Going into the 7th Grade this coming Fall?  Well do we have a camp for you!!

Celebrate Me Week 2012 is a week-long camp that was designed with kids like you in mind.  We believe that each one of us has a "diamond inside" and that it is important to celebrate the unique individuals that we are.  Throughout the week you are given tools to help get through some of the tough things that adolescence can bring such as: peer pressure, low self-esteem, conformity, and relationships with friends and family.

There are lots of GREAT activities at CMW.  Camp is held right on the beautiful Lake Washington near Mankato, MN.  As campers you have the opportunity to go swimming, canoeing, play basketball, volleyball, and participate in arts and crafts.  We also have bonfires and sometimes find ourselves dancing into the night under our big, white tent!  Many new friendships are made at CMW each year, many of them lasting far beyond the week at Camp.  We also have a wonderful Staff who love to have fun!

Celebrate Me Week is a once in a lifetime experience.  We hope you can join us!

::: Our 3 Rules :::

Frequently Asked Questions...

1.  How many campers are accepted for each session?
Our facility allows us to have 104 campers in each session (56 girls, 48 boys).  Applications are accepted in the order that they are received, and we do our best to limit one camper per school to each cabin.

2.  Why don't you let friends bunk together?
CMW is going on its 23rd year and we have learned so much over the years.  One thing that we saw in the early years, is that if friends bunk in the same cabin that it can cause distance between the other bunk-mates.  Seventy-five percent of our week is spent in a large group where friends can often be together during the activities; however "cabin-time" is when we see the most new friendships being made.

3.  Can I call or e-mail my child?
Due to the large number of campers and our activity-packed schedule, we do not allow campers to call home unless it is an absolute emergency.  We also ask that parents do not send e-mails for their child because it takes staff away from activities/experiences if they are constantly checking/printing/delivering e-mail messages...plus campers love to get "real mail" from home!!

4.  What about home-sickness?
Over the years we have become experts at this tricky illness.  It is often an emotional time when Mom and Dad say goodbye to their child for an entire week and sometimes it takes its toll physically on the camper.  We have a nurse's office in the basement of the Lodge (where it's nice and cool) and campers are allowed to spend some time relaxing in hopes of a speedy recovery.  If the child has a fever, is vomiting, and requests to go home we will phone parents to inform them of this.  Every situation is different.  Sometimes campers jump right back into the swing of things and sometimes we sadly have to send them home without getting to experience CMW in its entirety.

5.  Do you do background checks on your staff?
One of the unique things about CMW is that we do not advertise our program, rather we depend completely on "word of mouth."  Every application that we receive is somehow tied to someone who has experienced CMW in the past.  We ask important essay questions on the application to screen one's maturity, interests, and experience.  We also rely on references.  Due to our non-profit status and the fact that our program is only one week in length, we are unable to do formal background checks on all staff.  Please do note that all of our staff is closely monitored for appropriateness and participation.
